KATIE GREGORY

Understanding Behavior Is the First Step Toward Understanding Your Child

Katie Gregory, M.Ed, BCBA, LBA

My story is a testament to God's faithfulness and His ability to weave together a plan far greater than I could have imagined. From the time I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be a special education teacher, though I didn't realize how significantly behavior would shape that path. Early in my career, I was introduced to the field of behavior analysis, and it transformed not only my classroom practices but also my perspective as an educator. Discovering evidence-based strategies to support students and build positive learning environments ignited a passion that continues to guide my work today.

Since becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2017, I have had the privilege of partnering with thousands of teachers and paraeducators, equipping them with practical, proactive strategies to address behavior and support student success. My greatest passion lies in empowering others with the knowledge, tools, and confidence they need to navigate challenges with clarity and purpose.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Special Education from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. After several years of teaching in both self-contained and modified classroom settings, my family relocated to Nashville, where I completed a master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis through Arizona State University's online program. Today, I work as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, combining my backgrounds in special education and behavior analysis to support educators, students, and parents alike.

My Story

My Approach

I believe that behavior is communication, and once a family understands what's behind a challenging moment, they can respond with clarity instead of guesswork. As a BCBA, I help parents move past the cycle of frustration and inconsistency that so often comes with big emotions, meltdowns, or defiance, replacing it with proactive, evidence-based strategies that actually work at home, not just on paper.

I am a trusted resource for families raising neurodivergent kids, including children with autism, ADHD, and other developmental and learning differences. I help parents understand their child's unique wiring, build routines and environments that set their child up for success, and advocate confidently for what their child needs at school and at home. Drawing on my years in the classroom alongside my clinical training, I bridge the gap between what a child needs and what a parent knows how to do about it, giving families a plan instead of just a diagnosis.

Beyond Coaching

Outside of work, you'll most likely find me adventuring with my family, hiking a new trail, getting a good CrossFit workout in, or baking something yummy with sourdough. There's something about lacing up my hiking boots and setting out on a trail I've never explored that resets my whole perspective — the quiet, the fresh air, and the chance to slow down and notice the little things I might otherwise rush past. CrossFit gives me a different kind of challenge, one that pushes me physically and mentally and reminds me what I'm capable of when I show up and put in the work, even on the days I don't feel like it.

But more than any single hobby, what I love most is the time spent making memories with my family. Whether we're exploring somewhere new together, cheering each other on, or simply gathered around the table enjoying a freshly baked treat, those moments are what matter most. For me, life is about seeing the beauty in the ordinary, staying active, trying new things, showing up for the people I love, and always finding an excuse to bake.

I’m Here to Help

If you're a mom raising a child who thinks, learns, or feels differently than other kids, I understand. Maybe you're exhausted from meltdowns you can't predict, worried you're doing something wrong, or unsure how to get your child the support they need at school. Maybe you've been told to "just be more consistent" without anyone showing you how.

My passion is giving parents real, practical tools, not just theories, so they can understand their child's behavior and respond in a way that builds connection instead of conflict. Whether you're newly navigating a diagnosis or you've been advocating for your child for years, I'm here to walk alongside you with clarity, compassion, and a plan.
