LAUREN WEAVER

Understanding behavior, building skills, and empowering children to do hard things—together.

Lauren Weaver, M.S., BCBA, LBA

As the big sister to two younger brothers, I learned early that I had a knack for influencing behavior, even if my first intervention was getting my brothers to clean my room in exchange for stickers! I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, and after a brief stint with a government contractor taught me what I didn't want to do, I was introduced to behavior analysis. I fell in love with using behavioral science to help children with diverse learning needs. While my path may have started unexpectedly, I truly believe it was part of God's plan for me all along.

Some of my most treasured memories are the small moments that represent huge milestones—a child's first word, a first friend on the playground, a skill that once seemed out of reach. As a BCBA, I've worked across ABA clinics, residential schools, public schools, and pediatric settings, and spent over a decade at TRIAD – The Autism Institute at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, leading a team supporting Tennessee teachers and students with significant behaviors. I also founded what is now the Neurodiverse Community Access Network (NeuroCAN), helping arts, education, and entertainment organizations become more accessible and inclusive for neurodivergent individuals.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and my graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, with an emphasis in Developmental Disabilities, from Auburn University. Today, I bring all of these experiences together with one goal: to help families understand behavior, build skills, and feel confident supporting their children

My Story

My Approach

I believe behavior is communication. When we understand what a child's behavior is telling us, parents can respond with greater confidence, consistency, and compassion. My goal is to help families understand the why behind behavior and give them practical tools for everyday situations, from building independence to navigating challenging moments and crises.

I take a positive, skill-building approach rather than relying on punishment, focusing on teaching children to communicate, cope, problem-solve, and become more independent, while helping parents feel confident in how they respond. I also love breaking down the often-overwhelming language of IEPs, FBAs, and BIPs so parents and professionals understand not just what it means, but what to do with it.

At the heart of my approach is safety, independence, and relationships. I want families to feel equipped, not judged, with strategies that support their child while strengthening the relationships that matter most. I believe each of us was created uniquely and intentionally by God, and that our differences are part of what makes us wonderfully who we are. In a world of worry, my greatest passion is helping families find days of joy, with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to navigate challenges with clarity and purpose.

Beyond Coaching

Outside of work, you’ll most likely find me out and about cheering on my people. I married my high school sweetheart, and together we’re raising three kids who all love sports. Life is busy in the best way - we’re constantly coaching, cheering from the sidelines, and showing up for all the things they love.

As a former collegiate athlete, I still love a little friendly competition and can often be found on the tennis courts with my teammates. When I’m not at a game or on the court, I love a good cup of coffee on the porch, taking walks with my Collie, Mollie, getting lost in a great audiobook, traveling with my family, or volunteering at my kids’ schools.

I’m incredibly grateful for the community of women who surround me and show up for one another. I’ve experienced firsthand how much better we are when we do life together—from carpooling and cheering each other on to loving and caring for one another’s kids as our own. I’m thankful for the women who have made me a better mom and a better person, and I’m passionate about helping create that same sense of community for other moms through Elevate Moms.

I’m Here to Help

Parenting is hard, and it can feel even more overwhelming when your child experiences the world, learns, or communicates differently. You may feel like you’re on an island, navigating unpredictable behaviors, wondering whether you’re responding the right way, or trying to find the support, care, and resources your child needs. And when waitlists are long, it can be difficult to know where to turn in the meantime.

My passion is helping parents feel equipped, confident, and supported as they take the next step. I provide practical, evidence-based strategies that families can use at home and in everyday life, not just ideas that sound good on paper. Together, we can better understand what your child’s behavior is communicating and learn ways to respond with grace and compassion while teaching new skills, strengthening relationships, and reducing conflict.

Whether you’re just beginning to navigate a diagnosis or you’ve been advocating for your child for years, you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to meet you where you are, help you make sense of the jargon, and give you a practical plan you can feel confident putting into action.

Ready to Begin?

Let’s work together. Understanding your child’s behavior doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Together, we can break down behavior, bring more peace to your home, and help your child build independence and grow into who God created them to be.
